This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Summary Operating under the direction of the Building Leader and classroom teacher, this position supports instruction, student supervision, and day-to-day classroom operations. The role reinforces academic skills, assists with behavior and social-emotional development, prepares materials, and provides supervision in a variety of school settings. This position also supports assessment activities, participates in training, and contributes to a safe, positive learning environment for all students. Frequency of responsibility, percent of time and work year may vary based on department or building assignment. Job Responsibility Description 1. Instructional Support Assist the teacher with delivering instruction and implementing lesson plans across core academic areas such reading, math, and social studies. Provide individual or small-group support to reinforce learning and classroom expectations Monitor student engagement and participation. Observe and report progress or concerns to the teacher. Support classroom routines to maintain a productive and orderly learning environment. 2. Student Supervision and Behavior Support Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, recess, lunch, and other school environments. Support student behavior and social-emotional skill development using building-wide expectations and practices. Model appropriate interactions and guide students in making positive choices. Assist with arrival, dismissal, and bus loading/unloading as assigned. 3. Classroom Materials and Clerical Support Prepare, organize, and maintain instructional materials, supplies, and learning tools. Assist with basic clerical tasks such as copying, filing, grading, attendance, and student records. Support classroom setup including displays, visuals, and educational resources. 4. Assessment and Testing Support Assist with classroom, schoolwide, and state testing logistics, including small-group administration as directed. Support all levels of assessment, including TS Gold data collection, intervention literacy and math progress monitoring, and other building-level assessments. Prepare testing materials, schedule sessions, organize student groups, and assist with make-ups and related documentation. 5. Meetings, Trainings, and School Activities Participate required staff meetings, trainings, and other professional development Assist with school events, field trips, off-site tours, and special projects as assigned. 6. Other Duties Additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities may be assigned as needed/requested. Education and Experience Acceptable demonstration of acceptable education and/or experience will be at the sole discretion of the District High school diploma or equivalent required Associate's degree, completion of at least 48 semester hours of college coursework, or a passing score on the WorkKeys assessment (or other approved assessment) required for Title I schools Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred Bilingual (English/Spanish) language skills required when assigned to a bilingual program Licenses, Registrations or Certifications Criminal background check required for hire Valid Colorado driver's license or valid Colorado identification required Ability to obtain and maintain required district trainings (e.g., restraint training, first aid/CPR if assigned) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to support teacher-directed instruction and reinforce academic and behavioral expectations. Skill in using positive behavior supports, de-escalation techniques, and calm conflict intervention. Ability to build supportive, respectful relationships with students and maintain appropriate boundaries. Ability to adapt to changing needs, manage frequent interruptions, and maintain focus in a busy school environment. Ability to supervise students safely in a variety of settings and respond appropriately in crisis or emergency situations. Ability to follow district safety procedures and report concerns promptly. Ability to be adaptable and flexible with collaborative critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills Strong customer service skills, with the ability to provide support in a professional and approachable manner Commitment to handling sensitive and confidential information with the highest ethical standards Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with staff and various stakeholders Ability to lead, communicate, interact and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds Ability to follow applicable federal, state, local laws and Board of Education policies, in addition to building and department procedures Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator Basic operating knowledge of computers, district-approved devices, and common educational technology tools. Ability to use email, word processing, spreadsheets, and other standard office software. Ability to operate typical office equipment such as copiers, printers, and telephones.Salary & Benefits:
