Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as a Primary / Toddler Assistant Teacher! In this dynamic role, you will support lead teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young children. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster early childhood development, ensuring each child's social, emotional, and academic growth. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate curricula focused on literacy, math, social skills, and classroom behavior management Supervise children during classroom activities, outdoor play, meals, and rest periods to ensure safety and well-being Support individualized learning plans for children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes learning and safety standards aligned with educational compliance and regulation requirements Communicate regularly with parents about children's progress, behavior, and developmental milestones through meetings or written updates Use educational technologies and computers to enhance learning experiences and support classroom instruction Collaborate with teaching staff to develop lesson plans, activities, and behavior management strategies that foster positive classroom dynamics Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in educational or childcare settings is highly preferred Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices such as Montessori or preschool curricula Strong classroom management skills and the ability to supervise children effectively while maintaining a positive environment Experience working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is a plus Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members confidently and clearly Certification in first aid and CPR is required or willing to obtain upon hire Familiarity with educational compliance standards such as the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and relevant regulations governing early childhood programs Ability to work collaboratively with teachers through mentoring, tutoring, and classroom planning efforts Proficiency in proofreading educational materials and supporting literacy education initiatives This role is ideal for passionate individuals committed to early childhood education who want to grow professionally while making a lasting impact on young learners. Pay:
$16.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 8.0 per week
