Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to join our team. As a Paraprofessional, you will work closely with school-aged children with developmental disabilities, particularly those diagnosed with Autism. Your role will involve implementing behavior plans, assisting in lesson planning and implementation, providing direct and group support to children, and assisting in the development of essential communication and life skills.
Duties:
  • Implement behavior intervention plans based on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
  • Provide direct one-on-one therapy sessions to individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Be creative and assist Teachers and BCBA's with lesson plan development and implementation
  • Assist individuals in acquiring and improving social, communication, academic/school readiness, and independent living skills
  • Monitor progress and collect data on individual behavior and skill acquisition
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to implement programming
  • Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of sessions, progress notes, and records
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and FERPA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and educational records
  • Implement crisis management procedures when necessary
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred
  • Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques and principles is highly desirable
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with individuals with autism or other developmental disorders
  • Strong observational skills to accurately assess patient behavior and progress
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to establish rapport with clients, families, and colleagues
  • Ability to follow instructions and implement programming effectively
  • Implement crisis management procedures when necessary
  • Proficiency in data collection
