SUMMARY OF JOB DESCRIPTION
: Supervise preschool students ages 3-5 during recess, lunch and/or nap time in order to give breaks to the preschool teachers and other preschool paraprofessionals. 12 hours per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB ELEMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required of the position. Accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Frequency I. Supervise children during preschool day by guiding and directing activities and behavior. D 2. Assist in implementation of safety at all times by ensuring safe behavior and by monitoring toys, furniture and equipment for signs of damage and possible danger to students. D 5. Communicate with teachers and other staff the academic and/or behavioral progress of students. D 7. Assist in organizing equipment and supplies, setting-up and cleaning-up snacks/lunch. D 8. Assist in preparation of projects, fire drills and emergency procedures D/W 9. Clean rooms after projects and playtime. Wash dishes, do laundry and arrange furniture for the following day. M 10. Assist with medically fragile students, handle bodily fluids (including changing diapers), and assist with feeding. A 14. Compliance of state licensing regulations. D 15. Monitors children in the classroom and on the playground D 16. Demonstrates the commitment to build and maintain a safe, fair and respectful working and learning environment that honors the cultural diversity of students and staff. D 17. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff. AsN

QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in the group care of children ages 3-5 Effective Communication and interpersonal skills Specialized courses and training to meet applicable state requirements Group leader qualified as stipulated by state childcare licensing state regulations Clerical skills appropriate to duties of position TB test and physical exam (acquired within 6 weeks of employment), if applicable Must be highly qualified according to the No Child Left Behind Act (A.A. or A.S. Degree, or 48 semester hours of credit, or passing score on State approved Content/Knowledge test) Valid community First Aid and CPR card (or acquire within 30 days of hire) Physical exam (acquired within 30 days of employment Participate in a minimum of 15 hour training annually required to meet state child care licensing standards.
