Aug 24, 2026 Job Description Join the Bethany Team as a Paraeducator for the 2026-2027 School Year The Paraeducator assists and works under the direction of teachers and/or other professional educators in the delivery of instructional and related services to students.
Work Schedule:
35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:25 am to 3:25 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, follows school calendar plus 3 professional development days for a total of 185 days per school year.
Pay Rate:
2026-2027 hourly rate pending
CSEA, SEIU
Local 2001 contract negotiations. 2025-2026 pay rate = $21.40/hour

Qualifications:
Associate degree or two years of college credit OR a High School diploma or equivalent and a passing score of 457 on the Praxis ParaPro assessment. Must be certified in Physical Management Training (PMT) or be willing to be trained and certified. Elementary school experience is preferred. Aptitude, emotional maturity, and stability are necessary for working with various types of children and professional staff. Ability to work well with others. Strong organizational, recordkeeping, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Must possess good judgment in the supervision of, management of, and communication with students. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job. The Bethany Community School is an elementary school (PK to 6) located in central Bethany on an extensive rural campus. The school offers a supportive leadership team and staff and extensive instructional resources.
