Assistant 3's Teacher St. John Preschool - 4.3 Darien, CT Job Details Part-time $26 - $30 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications School experience High school diploma or GED Teaching experience with young children Classroom Teaching Full Job Description St. John Preschool is hiring an Assistant 3's Teacher in Darien, CT Summary Saint John Preschool is a warm, play-based early childhood program that values curiosity, kindness, and the social-emotional growth of each child within a supportive community. We are seeking a warm, reliable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to support our 3-day 3's classroom, which currently runs Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 - 12:00. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working collaboratively and contributing to a nurturing, values-centered preschool environment. This the last school year that our 3-year-old class will run only 3 days. The following school year, it will run five days/week, which is something to consider when applying for this position. In the meantime, there will be the option to work additional hours, including afternoon Lunch Bunch supervision or substitute teaching in other classrooms on Thursdays and Fridays, if desired. Duties Support the lead teacher in implementing daily classroom activities Help create a nurturing, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment Assist with classroom management, transitions, and student supervision Collaborate with staff and contribute to a positive team environment Attend all staff meetings Support a classroom culture rooted in kindness, respect, and age-appropriate faith-based values Requirements Background check through BCIS Completion of Virtus training upon hire Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Medication Administration certification (or willingness to obtain) Appreciation for working in a faith-based school environment that incorporates Christian values into the curriculum Previous preschool classroom experience CDA or Associates Degree in ECE or similar Nice To Haves Strong communication and collaboration skills Flexible, dependable, and proactive attitude Basic computer skills
