Job Description

Description:
The paraprofessional will work with a variety of students, including multiple handicapped and autism, under the supervision of the special education and regular education teachers to provide academic and physical assistance to promote student achievement of goals and objectives. This involves supporting students in all aspects of their day and the ability to work in diverse classroom settings, which may include, but is not limited to, assistance with Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy routines, therapy activities, physical assistance for mobility, lifting, personal care, toileting, grooming, feeding, parallel exercise, swimming, field trips, life skills instruction and all other duties as assigned by the teacher and/or building principal. This position is available for the 2026-2027 School Year.
Requirements:
A Para-Pro Certificate, Associate Degree, or 60 college credits are required to fulfill this position. Please note that until you fulfill the above requirements, you will be hired as a substitute paraeducator. This does not include any benefits and is an hourly rate of $18.10.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess the skills to assist in all school activities. Applicants must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, support student instruction, record data as needed, and assist students with feeding, toileting, and other personal hygiene. Applicants must be flexible and able to adjust to schedule changes as directed by the teacher and/or principal. Additional coursework and/or experience working with people with disabilities is preferred.
Salary:
$18.32/ hr
