Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference supporting students as a Para/Behavior Technician in a dynamic educational environment near Meriden, CT. In this full-time contract position, you'll play a vital role in the everyday learning experiences of students on the autism spectrum and those facing behavioral challenges. Each classroom consists of 5-7 students, and each child receives dedicated 1:1 support, allowing for truly individualized care and attention.
Key Qualifications:
1-2 years of experience working in behavioral or special education roles Strong reliability and commitment to student success Ability to respond compassionately to mild to intense behavioral needs Comfort with assisting students who may require support with toileting Paraprofessional or similar related certification/experience Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide focused one-on-one guidance to students within a classroom setting Implement behavior intervention strategies as directed by classroom staff and specialists Assist teachers in creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment Support students in developing academic, social, and self-regulation skills Collaborate with special education teams to monitor each student's progress Help maintain a safe and positive atmosphere for all classroom participants Compensation for this full-time position is offered at a rate of $18-$24 per hour, commensurate with prior experience.
