EXTRAS Program Assistant

EXTRAS is fun and dynamic program for children ages 5-12 located at Salisbury Central School. We offer programming for children after-school, some school breaks, and during the summer! We are currently seeking a Program Assistant. The Program Assistant plays a vital role in creating a fun and safe environment for children to learn and grow. This position is part time during the school year, and can include a full-time or part time summer position if desired.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise and engage with students during various activities Ensure the safety and well-being of students at all times Engage students with appropriate games, crafts, and recreational activities Provide guidance and support to students in developing social skills and positive behavior Collaborate with other staff to create a positive and inclusive classroom Maintain a clean and organized classroom environment

QUALIFICATIONS

Some experience with children Knowledge of and ability to learn appropriate child development techniques. Demonstrated track record of timeliness and punctuality Clean background check SKILLS Strong interpersonal skills and ability to connect with children of various ages Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues Patience, flexibility, and adaptability in a dynamic environment
