Chatfield-LoPresti Elementary School Chatfield-LoPresti Elementary School in Seymour, CT is looking to find a paraeducator to provide instructional, behavioral, and classroom support to students under the direction and supervision of certified professional staff. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and administrators to promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide individual, small-group, and classroom support as directed by certified staff. Assist students with academic activities and reinforce skills and concepts introduced by classroom teachers. Implement instructional strategies, accommodations, modifications, and behavioral supports developed by professional staff. Support students with a variety of academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and developmental needs. Promote student independence while providing appropriate levels of assistance and supervision. Assist students in successfully participating in classroom routines, transitions, lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, and other school activities as assigned. Implement proactive behavior-management strategies and support positive student behavior. Collect and record student data as directed by certified professional staff. Provide teachers and other professionals with relevant, objective information regarding student performance and behavior. Maintain student confidentiality and demonstrate professional and ethical conduct at all times. Follow all district policies, school procedures, safety protocols, and staff directives. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance and punctuality. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the building principal, classroom teacher, or appropriate designee.
