Job Description:
The Classroom paraeducator provides individualized support to students under the direction of the special education teacher and tutor. The paraeducator assists in implementing behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and individualized education programs (IEPs) to support students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
Responsibilities:
Implement strategies and behavior intervention plans under the guidance of certified staff. Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students, focusing on skill development and behavioral goals. Collect and record data on student performance and behavior to monitor progress and adjust strategies as directed. Assist with instructional activities, including adapting materials to meet student needs. Provide support for students' personal care needs, such as toileting, feeding, and lifting, as required. Collaborate with the classroom teacher, behavior specialists, and related service providers to ensure consistent implementation of programs. Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Foster social interactions and communication skills among students.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or passign score on the Parapro Assessment required. Certification in Applied Behavior Analysis or prior experience in ABA-based strategies is highly desirable. Ability to lift and assist students with physical and personal care needs. Experience working with children with autism or related disabilities in a school or clinical setting preferred. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Schedule and Salary:
