Job Description
Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting student success as a direct adult support paraprofessional at a local elementary school. This full-time, contract opportunity offers you the chance to make a meaningful difference each day, working alongside dedicated educators in a vibrant learning environment. The position is onsite, running Monday through Friday for 35 hours a week, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, beginning as soon as possible and extending through early June 2027.
Key Qualifications:
Active Delaware Paraeducator Permit required at time of application; applicants with permits in process will need to provide a screenshot from the DEEDS portal. Previous experience as a paraprofessional in a school setting is highly desirable. Knowledge of behavioral support practices is a plus. Must be willing to pay a $85 fee for CBC fingerprinting as part of the onboarding process. For Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), please note that external BCBA supervision will be needed to maintain certification, as supervision is not provided. Strong communication, collaboration, and adaptability skills.Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct adult support and individualized assistance to students at Mount Pleasant Elementary. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers and staff to foster a supportive educational atmosphere. Assist with instructional activities under teacher direction, adapting materials and strategies to meet student needs.
