Job Description

A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Paraprofessional to provide essential support at an elementary school near Wilmington, DE. This full-time position helps ensure educational success for students during a full-year medical leave. With a Monday through Friday schedule totaling 35 hours per week, you'll collaborate with teachers and staff to foster a positive learning environment and enhance student engagement.
Key Qualifications:
Current Delaware Paraeducator Permit requiredmust be in hand at time of application; pending permits not accepted without proper documentation (DEEDS portal screenshot). Previous experience supporting students in a school setting is strongly preferred. Willingness to undergo $85 CBC fingerprinting (candidate responsibility, must confirm agreement). Ability to work collaboratively with educators, support staff, and families to promote student success. If you hold an RBT credential, please note that supervision must be secured outside of school hours as it is not provided by the district.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver individualized and group instructional support to students as outlined by teachers and special education teams. Assist in managing classroom behavior and encouraging participation using positive reinforcement techniques. Support the implementation of lesson plans and modify activities to meet the needs of diverse learners. Provide supervision and assistance during transitions, lunch, and other non-instructional times. Maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to all district and state guidelines.
