Qualifications:

In order to meet the paraprofessional job qualifications, you must meet one of the following criteria: Official transcript showing an Associate Degree or higher Official transcript showing completion of 60 credit hours with a ‘C' or better Satisfactory test score of 459 on the ParaPro Assessment & official high school transcript or GED equivalency Clean Criminal Background, Child Protective Registry Check, and TB test results required prior to employment Strong written and verbal communication skills Previous experience working with children in varied settings; preferred Working knowledge of behavior management procedures; preferred Knowledge of accommodations for special education students; preferred

Responsibilities:

Work with students to provide instructional and behavioral support Utilize knowledge of the social, emotional, medical, and academic needs of individual students obtained through collaboration with teacher and/or specialist Collaborate with the teacher, paraprofessionals and/or related services providers about the plans and implementation of activities and resources for the students Understand and implement the student's IEP (Individual Education Program) goals and objectives, as well as any accommodations to ensure the student's success Work with students in variety of ways, which may include an individual, small group, or whole group settings Assist in ongoing monitoring of student progress which may include assessments, data collection and computer work Support in maintaining student discipline using behavior management plan as directed by classroom teacher Perform other duties as requested by administration to meet the needs of the students The statements herein are intended to describe the general nature of the position and are not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of job functions.
