Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Bring your skills as a dedicated paraprofessional to support students and staff in a dynamic school environment near Newark, Delaware. This contract opportunity is available immediately, running through September 2026, providing valuable coverage for a leave of absence at a high school setting. The role involves working onsite, Monday through Friday, for 35 hours each week (with a 30-minute unpaid lunch daily).
Key Qualifications:
Valid Delaware Paraeducator Permit (must be current and in hand at submission; candidates with permits pending or in process cannot be considered) Previous experience in a paraprofessional or support capacity within educational settings Comfortable working collaboratively in a fast-paced, high school environment Ability to follow guidance from lead teachers and adapt to the varied needs of students
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct assistance to students under the guidance of instructional staff Support classroom management and facilitate student engagement Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and structured learning space Assist with instructional tasks, including resource preparation and supporting individual student needs
Additional Details:
Candidates who also hold a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification must note that the district cannot provide BCBA supervision or recognize the RBT credential for this role An $85 fee for CBC fingerprinting is required for employment; candidates should confirm their understanding and agreement to this step prior to application This position plays an essential role in maintaining continuity and a positive classroom environment, making a real impact during a staff member's leave.
