Key Responsibilities Academic Support:
Supervise the "Homework Room," checking student planners and providing guidance in Math, Reading, and Language Arts.
Mentorship:
Foster self-esteem and self-discipline by providing positive guidance and encouragement to every child.
Operational Excellence:
Assist with student check-in/dismissal and maintain a clean, organized, and "classroom-ready" environment.
Relationship Building:
Enthusiastically greet parents and maintain professional communication regarding student progress. Duties Supervise children during after-school hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times Assist with homework help, tutoring, and educational activities aligned with early childhood education principles Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive conduct and social skills Lead or assist in recreational activities such as sports coaching, arts, theater, or other enrichment programs Support children with special needs or those requiring additional attention, utilizing experience in special education or childcare as needed Maintain a clean and organized environment in accordance with safety standards Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond appropriately to emergencies Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and staff regarding children's progress and behavior Participate in program planning meetings and contribute ideas for curriculum development Experience Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, babysitting, or early childhood education preferred Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies Experience with special education or childhood development is advantageous Certifications in first aid or child CPR are a plus but not required; training can be provided Background in teaching, theater, sports coaching, Christian counseling, or other child-focused activities is beneficial Demonstrated ability to engage children through creative activities such as arts, drama, or sports Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while developing valuable skills in education and youth development.
