Job Description

Paraprofessional Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Paraprofessional to support teachers and assist students in their educational journey. The ideal candidate will work closely with students, particularly those in early childhood and special education settings, to foster a positive learning environment. This role requires a strong understanding of childhood development and the ability to implement curriculum effectively while providing individualized support. Duties Assist teachers in the implementation of lesson plans and curriculum development tailored to meet the diverse needs of students. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students, focusing on academic subjects such as math and literacy. Foster an inclusive classroom environment by supporting children with special education needs and ensuring their participation in all activities. Monitor student progress and behavior, providing feedback to teachers regarding individual student needs. Engage with students during activities, encouraging participation and promoting positive social interactions. Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment, ensuring that materials are readily available for student use. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff members to create effective strategies for student success. Skills Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and practices. Experience working with children in various settings, including toddler care and special education. Knowledge of childhood development theories and practices. Ability to develop engaging curriculum materials that cater to different learning styles. Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow. Proficiency in basic math concepts to assist students effectively.
