Helps teachers with recordkeeping, preparation for lessons and activities and supervising students. May work with special education students, or work in a school library or computer lab; may be called teacher aide or paraprofessional.

a. organizing materials. b. completing a task. c. returning materials properly to the shelf. Follows the directives of Lead Teacher. Participates in observations, to assist the Lead Teacher in record keeping. Meets with Lead Teacher, Intern and Staff Development Coordinator for guidance. Greets arrivals and helps with dismissals. Helps with dressing and undressing children, if necessary. Helps with assisting an injured child. Assists any child with a problem in: a. organizing materials. b. completing a task. c. returning materials properly to the shelf. Assists with the daily care and renewal of the prepared environment. Helps with the completion of the weekly cleaning checklist. Takes charge of snack and of refilling supplies, as needed. Makes materials during school hours, when time permits. Attends all staff meetings and parent meetings. Reports all accidents at once and prepares a written report on the DCFS accident form. Fulfills all the DCFS state requirements. Contends with interruptions, thereby freeing other staff to continue working with the children. Adheres to all policies and procedures as outlined in the Personnel Policy Handbook.' '
