We are seeking a caring, flexible, and dedicated Middle School Teacher Assistant to join our team for the upcoming school year. In this role, you will primarily work alongside the same lead teacher throughout the day, either supporting our Math/Science teacher or our English/History teacher. Our middle school serves students in grades 6-8 with a variety of learning profiles, including ADHD, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and other related needs. Class sizes are intentionally small, typically consisting of 6-8 students, allowing staff to provide individualized support and build strong relationships with students. The Teacher Assistant plays an important role in helping students access classroom instruction, stay engaged in learning, and develop independence and confidence in the classroom.
Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the lead teacher during classroom instruction throughout the school day Assisting students individually and in small groups to reinforce concepts and provide additional support Monitoring student understanding and providing guidance when students are struggling with assignments or classwork Helping students remain organized, focused, and engaged during lessons Collaborating closely with the lead teacher to support student success Assisting with classroom management and daily classroom routines as needed
Qualifications:
Experience working with middle school-aged students preferred Ability to support academic content in Math, Science, English, and/or History Strong communication and interpersonal skills Patient, positive, and flexible approach to working with students Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Experience working with students with special needs preferred Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) experience or certification is a plus
Schedule:
Monday-Friday Approximately 7:30 AM - 4:15 PM Classroom hours are generally 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM with breaks throughout the day
Salary & Benefits:
