Job Description
First Presbyterian Preschool is seeking a teacher's aide for our preschool. We have served the downtown Naples community for the past 65 years as a high quality, part-day program for toddlers-VPK. Duties:
- Assist teachers in planning curriculum and classroom experiences for young children
- Communicate with the classroom teacher, following his/her guidance throughout the day
- Communicate and collaborate with the teacher any specific concerns or problems
- Take care of the classroom by refilling supplies and assuming an equal share of housekeeping duties
- Act as classroom lead in the teacher's absence
- Treat each child with love, dignity, and respect: actively engage with children during routines, meals/snacks, and play; maintain calm, respectful tone of voice when communicating with others; follow guidance policy
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Adhere to policies documented in the human resources guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working with preschool and/or toddler-aged students is a plus but not required
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices is a plus
- Familiarity with curriculum for young children, specifically play-based experiences
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and engage students in learning experiences
- Understanding of child welfare and safety regulations
- Complies with all licensing requirements
