Job Overview We are seeking a Program Assistant to join our ministry in an overnight residential role. The Program Assistant serves as the on-site staff presence during overnight hours, providing stability, safety, and support to our residents and their children. This is a hands-on, in-home position — not a passive role. It requires someone who is alert, engaged, and deeply committed to the mission of Sunlight Home. Responsibilites Serve as the primary overnight staff presence in the home, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents and their children throughout the night. Maintain a calm, stable, and supportive environment during overnight hours, responding to resident needs as they arise. Observe and communicate resident behaviors, mood changes, and any incidents or concerns, reporting all findings to the Executive Director and leadership. Enforce house rules, curfew, and program expectations consistently and respectfully, holding residents accountable while maintaining a spirit of grace. Assist residents with overnight and early-morning needs, including but not limited to support with infants as appropriate. Implement and support individualized care plans in collaboration with the Executive Director and clinical partners. Respond effectively to emergencies, including administering first aid when necessary and following established safety protocols. Maintain the cleanliness, order, and security of the home during overnight hours, including completing the End of Night Checklist. Communicate clearly and thoroughly with daytime staff during shift transitions, ensuring continuity of care and awareness of any overnight developments. Uphold strict confidentiality regarding all resident information, program operations, and internal matters. Model healthy boundaries, respectful communication, and Christ-centered values in all interactions with residents and staff. Requirements A personal faith and commitment to Christian values. Sunlight Home is a ministry, and our staff are expected to reflect that in how they serve, lead, and interact with the women in our care. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written. You must be able to clearly and compassionately communicate with residents, relay detailed information to leadership, and document incidents and observations accurately. Strong personal boundaries. This role requires someone who understands the importance of maintaining professional boundaries with residents at all times — no exceptions. You must be able to hold the line with compassion and consistency. Integrity and honesty. We are entrusting you with the safety of vulnerable women and children during the most unsupervised hours of the day. This requires a person of unwavering character who can be trusted completely — with our residents, our home, and our mission. Ability to observe, assess, and respond. You must be attentive to behavioral and emotional changes in residents, able to de-escalate situations calmly, and prepared to act quickly in an emergency. Experience in residential care, social services, caregiving, or a related field is preferred but not required. The right character, calling, and willingness to learn matter. First Aid certification is required. If not currently certified, willingness to obtain certification is expected. Must be available to work overnight hours consistently, including weekends as needed. Must pass a background check. Must have drivers license and ability to drive. This is more than a job — it is a calling. The women at Sunlight Home have come from some of the hardest circumstances imaginable. They are rebuilding their lives, learning to trust, and raising their children in a place that is supposed to feel like home. We are looking for someone who takes that responsibility seriously. Someone with a servant's heart, a strong backbone, and the wisdom to know when to extend grace and when to hold the line.
