Teacher Assistant

The teacher assistant will help students learn attitudes, skills, and subject matter that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christian men and women to the praise and glory of God. Assist the lead teacher with teaching all subjects assigned in the designated grade, adhering to the course instruction as prescribed in the Curriculum Guide. Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities. Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials that will provide for creative teaching to reach the whole child: spiritual, mental, physical, social and emotional. Teach each concept, assigned by Lead Teacher, utilizing multisensory strategies for each learning style in class. Support students at chapel and other co-curricular subjects (PE, Computer, Fine Arts); support teacher in all aspects of daily classroom procedures such as grading, copying, etc. Substitute teach for Lead Teachers, when necessary. May teach a class or small group in math/reading, etc.

Job Requirements:

Associates Degree in Education or other related field. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education requirement. Demonstrated proficiency in the computer programs used in classroom. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Database software. Ability to use technology in lesson plans, such as projector, iPads, and online videos.

Additional Requirements:

A strong, clear Christian testimony, acknowledging Jesus Christ as Savior, and seeking to live as His disciple. Must be a member/regular attender at a local Trinitarian church. A demonstrated acceptance without reservation of the Rocky Bayou Christian School Statement of Faith. A mature, Godly spirit that desires spiritual growth as evidenced by his/her prayer life, Bible study and spiritual outreach to others. A Christian role-model (Luke 6:40) in attitude, speech, and actions towards others. This includes being committed to God's biblical standards for sexual conduct. Must enroll any school aged children in Rocky Bayou Christian School or other approved Christian education venue. Must complete the Philosophy of Christian Education course provided by Rocky Bayou Christian School. Rocky Bayou Christian School is a drug-free workplace.
