PRIMARY PURPOSE
To assist in clerical duties and instructional responsibilities working under the direction of the Inclusion Teacher.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification:
High School Diploma/GED Texas Educational Aide Certificate
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Ability to work with children with disabilities Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Ability to communicate effectively
EXPERIENCE
None� prior experience working with children with learning disabilities preferred.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Assist classroom teachers in preparation of classroom teaching materials and bulletin boards. Operate standard office machines. Set up and operate audio-visual equipment and computers. Assist with the instructional program under the direct supervision of a certified teacher. Work with an individual student and/or a small group of students reinforcing academic, behavioral, or development skills. Perform routine clerical tasks, data collection, and grading under the direction and supervision of a certified teacher. Assist assessment team by administering achievement and/or development tests. Help manage the behavior of assigned students. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of assigned students. Perform other duties as assigned. Other School Health and Related Services (SHARS) duties as assigned

Mental Demands:
Use common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Writing simple correspondence and effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group situations. Dealing with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Maintain emotional control under stress.
Physical demands/environmental factors:
Standing, walking, talking, and hearing. Reaching with hands and arms and frequently repeating the same hand, arm or finger motion. Lifting/moving up to 10 pounds such as supplies of copier paper.
