Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant educational team as an Assistant Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a nurturing and engaging learning environment for young children. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and promoting positive behavior. Your passion for early childhood education and working with children with diverse needs will contribute to enriching their developmental journey. Duties Assist lead teachers in developing and executing lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social-emotional skills. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and implementing behavior management strategies tailored to individual needs. Engage with children through interactive activities, fostering their curiosity and love of learning in a safe and inclusive environment. Help facilitate communication with children using techniques such as American Sign Language (ASL) when appropriate, especially in classrooms serving students with communication needs. Collaborate on creating individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, including those with autism or developmental disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met. Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and development, including age-appropriate toys and educational materials. Support the implementation of curriculum development initiatives that incorporate Montessori or other specialized teaching methods suitable for preschool or toddler care settings. Experience Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool, toddler care, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, including working with students who have autism or other disabilities, is advantageous. Familiarity with IEP development and implementation to support individualized learning goals. Experience working in private school environments or similar educational institutions is a plus. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with lead teachers, parents, and specialists. Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior and foster positive social interactions among children. Background in literacy education, math instruction, and curriculum planning tailored for early learners is desirable. Pay:
$16.50 - $17.00 per hour
