Job Description

Afternoon Teacher Assistant We are looking for a qualified Teacher Assistants to care for our toddlers or preschoolers that will guide them, nurture them and give them the important elements needed for development. A teacher assistant must have a great love and patience for all ages. Qualifications needed to teach them effectively include knowledge of best practices and age appropriate learning as well as the ability to engage with them and earn their trust and attention. The goal is to contribute to the healthy mental and emotional development of the child so they can more easily acclimate in the next level of education. Responsibilities Develop a careful and creative program suitable for infants, toddlers, or preschoolers. Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.) to teach children Track children's progress and report to parents Communicate with parents regularly and share daily information with them. Be a team player Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards Skills Proven experience as an Early Educator Teacher Assistant. Excellent understanding of the principles of child development. Excellent communication and instructional skills Cool-tempered, friendly and reliable Certification in child CPR (we can get you certified if hired) Previous infant/toddler/preschool care experience DCF 45 hour training CDA or CDA Equivalency a plus
