Our early learning and childcare center in Sunrise, FL is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our 3-year-old classroom team. In this role, you will support the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities, supervision, routines, and learning experiences while helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. What You'll DoClassroom Support Assist the Lead Teacher with supervising and engaging children in the 3-year-old classroom. Help create a safe, nurturing, and positive classroom environment. Support age-appropriate learning activities, games, arts and crafts, music, and hands-on activities. Encourage children's social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development. Assist children with classroom routines, transitions, and daily activities. Encourage positive behavior, sharing, cooperation, and respectful interactions. Provide individual attention and support to children as needed. Daily Care & Supervision Maintain appropriate supervision and follow required staff-to-child ratios. Assist with meals, snacks, diapering/toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as appropriate. Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom. Assist with cleaning, sanitizing, and classroom organization throughout the day. Maintain accurate attendance and classroom records as required. Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and childcare procedures. Team & Family Communication Work cooperatively with the Lead Teacher and other staff members. Communicate professionally with parents and center staff regarding children's daily activities and needs. Follow lesson plans, classroom routines, and center policies. Support other classrooms or center activities when needed. Follow all applicable Florida childcare licensing regulations. Qualifications & Requirements We are seeking dependable, responsible, and child-focused candidates who meet the following requirements: High School Diploma or GED required . Florida 45-Hour DCF Child Care Training completed. Previous childcare, preschool, daycare, teaching, camp, or youth program experience preferred. CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain. Ability to pass a Level 2 Florida background screening . Strong spoken English communication skills required. Reliable, punctual, patient, and dependable. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Genuine interest in working with children and supporting their development. Preferred Qualifications At least 1 year of experience working with children ages 3-5. Child Development Associate ( CDA ) Credential. Previous experience working in a licensed childcare or early learning center. Experience assisting with classroom activities, lesson plans, or early childhood education programs. CPR/First Aid certification. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is: Caring and patient with young children. Dependable and punctual. Energetic and enthusiastic about early childhood education.
