Job Description

The SVB Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to providing tennis and education through character building, mentoring, and physical activity, is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Part-Time After-School Assistant . This is a unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of young people, fostering their growth on and off the court across 14 school locations. As a key member of our team, you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of our students. We believe our coaches are the cornerstone of our program's success, and we're looking for individuals passionate about making a difference. No tennis experience necessary!
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging and age-appropriate tennis instruction to recreational students at various skill levels. Curriculum provided by SVB Foundation. Implement the SVB Foundation's classroom curriculum, emphasizing character building, sportsmanship, and life skills alongside tennis fundamentals. Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment for all participants. Mentor students, serving as a positive role model and fostering their personal development. Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during coaching sessions. Manage equipment and maintain an organized coaching area.
Qualifications:
Previous experience with instruction, particularly with youth or recreational sports. Ability to connect with and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to different school locations within the service area. Must pass a background check.
Schedule & Compensation:
This part-time position offers 12-20 hours per week , with potential for additional hours and responsibilities based on program needs and individual performance.
