00 This travel Paraeducator position is based in Cochran, Georgia, a welcoming small-town community known for its close-knit feel, slower pace of life, and strong sense of local pride. Cochran offers the charm of traditional Southern living, with tree-lined streets, local restaurants, and community events that create a warm and friendly environment for residents and visitors alike. The town provides convenient access to larger cities for shopping, dining, and entertainment, while still maintaining the benefits of a quieter, more affordable community. It is an ideal setting for professionals who appreciate meaningful work in a relaxed, family-centered area. This role is a home-based, single-location assignment in Cochran, GA, serving one elementary-age student currently in 1st grade. The student has cognitive delays and functions more like a younger child developmentally. The student is receiving home instruction and many of his educational and related services are delivered virtually. Your primary responsibility will be to sit with the student during scheduled instruction and virtual sessions, providing ongoing support, redirection, and assistance to help him fully participate. Typical responsibilities include supporting the student during home instruction activities, assisting with accessing and navigating virtual platforms, and helping implement learning tasks and accommodations as directed by the educational team. You will facilitate all services in the home, ensuring that the student is present, attentive, and engaged throughout virtual instruction and therapy sessions. This may include providing behavior intervention and ASL support, as appropriate to your skills and the student's individualized plan. You will work closely, though often virtually, with the student's teacher, related service providers, and caregivers to follow established routines, behavior support strategies, and communication systems. The paraeducator serves as the in-person anchor for the student's educational program, making sure directions from virtual staff are understood and carried out, and that the home environment remains conducive to learning. The schedule for this travel assignment is expected to be Tuesday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for a total of 24 hours per week. The shift is structured, predictable, and focused on one-to-one support, allowing you to build a strong working relationship with the student and to see tangible progress over time. Because services are home-based, there is no rotation between multiple sites; you will be in a single, consistent location in the student's home. This position is well suited for a paraeducator or paraprofessional who values individualized, student-centered work and wants to make a direct impact in a child's daily life. The combination of home-based instruction, virtual service support, and behavior/communication assistance offers the opportunity to deepen your skills in special education, behavior support, and technology-supported learning. It can be a strong addition to a school-based or pediatric-focused resume, especially for professionals looking to build experience in one-to-one home instruction and virtual service facilitation.
