Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Take the opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting young students as a dedicated paraprofessional. Two full-time contract positions are available for the upcoming academic year at a welcoming elementary school, beginning August 4, 2026, through May 26, 2027. Whether your passion lies in regular or special education, you'll find rewarding work assisting students in a supportive team environment.
Assignment Options:
1. Regular Education PreK Support Support a classroom of around 17 students. Collaborate with another paraprofessional and the lead teacher. Provide targeted support for students with IEPs and diverse needs. 2. Special Education PreK Support Work closely with a small group of 4-7 students (ages 3-5) per session, some of whom are non-verbal or require help with daily living skills. Facilitate learning for students exhibiting behaviors such as tantrums and help encourage readiness for kindergarten. Engage with students across morning and mid-day sessions, supporting those who require extended hours.
Qualifications:
Completed or in-progress GaPSC Paraprofessional Certification (must be obtained prior to start date). Experience as a paraprofessional or in related classroom support roles strongly preferred. Willingness to complete onsite district fingerprinting. Compassion, adaptability, and strong communication skills for working with young children.
Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in classroom management and instructional activities. Collaborate in developing and implementing individual learning strategies. Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive environment. Attend required meetings and training sessions.
