We are seeking a caring, dependable, and enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to join our afternoon team. Position Summary The position is from 12pm to 6pm. The Assistant Teacher supports the Lead Teacher in maintaining a peaceful, organized, and child-centered Montessori classroom. This role involves supervising children, assisting with classroom activities, preparing materials, and helping create a safe and welcoming environment for all students. Responsibilities Assist the Lead Teacher in maintaining an organized Montessori classroom. Support children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions. Foster independence, respect, and positive social interactions among students. Help prepare and maintain Montessori materials and learning environments. Supervise children during lunch, rest time, and afternoon activities as needed. Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Communicate professionally and warmly with parents, staff, and visitors. Assist with classroom cleaning, organization, and end-of-day closing procedures. Participate in staff meetings and training opportunities when applicable. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience working with young children preferred. Montessori experience is a plus. Positive attitude, patience, and genuine enjoyment of working with children. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to pass required background checks. Pay:
$14.00 - $16.00 per hour
