About This Role At Chroma Early Learning Academy, an Assistant Childcare Teacher supports lead teachers in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for young children. This role involves helping to implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development, while ensuring the well-being and supervision of all children in the classroom. Responsibilities may include assisting with lesson preparation, maintaining a clean and organized space, monitoring behavior, and communicating effectively with staff and families. The ideal candidate is patient, attentive, and passionate about early childhood education, with a willingness to collaborate and adapt in a dynamic childcare setting. What You'll Do Assist the Lead Teacher in the day-to-day care of the children in the classroom. Maintain a safe, clean, and engaging classroom environment aligned with Georgia DECAL and Quality Rated standards. Support the implementation of an age-appropriate curriculum that promotes sensory exploration, early communication, and gross motor development. Observe and document developmental milestones and communicate regularly with families. Follow all licensing and program guidelines related to health, safety, and sanitation. Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training required for Quality Rated compliance. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred. Previous experience working with young children in a childcare or school setting. Knowledge of Bright from the Start standards and child development best practices. CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and engage in activities with children both indoors and outdoors.
