Educational Assistant Kaneohe, HI 96744 $22.08 - $26.58 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $22.08 - $26.58 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Educational Assistant to join our vibrant Hawaiian-focused charter school learning community. In this role, you will support classroom teachers and contribute to creating an engaging, inclusive, and nurturing environment for students of diverse backgrounds and abilities. Your enthusiasm for education and commitment to student success will help foster a positive learning atmosphere where every child can thrive. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners' lives while developing your skills in education and child development. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers with daily instructional activities. Support students with special educational needs, including those with disabilities or autism, ensuring they receive appropriate accommodations and encouragement. Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive classroom behavior and social-emotional development. Provide one-on-one tutoring or mentoring to students who need extra help in reading, writing, or math. Collaborate with teachers and parents to monitor student progress and communicate effectively about individual needs and achievements. Experience Prior experience working with children in educational settings such as classrooms, childcare centers, or private schools is preferred. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices is highly desirable. Experience in special education, including working with individuals with disabilities or autism, is a strong asset. Classroom management skills combined with the ability to adapt teaching methods for diverse learners are essential. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues, students, and families are required.
Pay:
$22.08 - $26.58 per hour
