Yesterday Job Description The North Polk Community School District is a progressive educational community located in the Des Moines metro area just north of Ankeny serving the communities of Alleman, Elkhart, Polk City, and Sheldahl. The District proudly serves over 2200 learners from preschool through 12th grade in five buildings (West Elementary, PK thru 2nd; Central Elementary, PK thru 5th, Big Creek Elementary, 3rd-5th, Middle School, 6th-8th; and High School, 9th-12th). North Polk High School, located in Alleman, is seeking to hire a special education paraeducator. An individual must be flexible, collaborative, and willing to learn and grow.
Hours:
7 - 8 hours per day
Compensation:
$17.82 - 20.11/per hour, depending on certification

  • Supporting a safe, positive teaching and learning environment.
  • Adhering to the Individual Education Plan and maintaining confidentiality regarding student educational programming.
  • Assisting in the physical and intellectual development of students.
  • Supporting the social, emotional, and behavioral development of students.
  • Establishing positive and productive relationships.
  • Communicating consistently with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Demonstrating ethical and professional standards of conduct.
  • Collaborating with teachers, administrators, and other staff to ensure best practice and supports are in place for students.
  • Participating in professional learning opportunities, as appropriate.
