Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team at Filer Elementary School as a full-time Elementary Duty Aide/Paraprofessional. This position plays a vital role in supporting the educational experience of our students by assisting teachers and staff in various capacities, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working with children and committed to fostering their academic and social development. Responsibilities Assist teachers in the classroom by preparing instructional materials and facilitating learning activities. Supervise students during recess, lunch, and other non-classroom activities to ensure their safety and well-being. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance with their studies or social skills. Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere by encouraging student participation and engagement. Assist with classroom management and behavior intervention strategies as directed by the teacher. Monitor students' progress and report any concerns to the teacher or appropriate staff. Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs. Collaborate with teachers, staff, and parents to promote student success and address any issues that may arise. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to education and child development. Perform other duties as assigned by school administration. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping children learn and grow. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take direction from educators. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Knowledge of child development and learning strategies is a plus. Must pass background checks as required by school district policies. CPR and First Aid certification is preferred or must be obtained within a specified timeframe.
