Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Filer Intermediate/Middle School as an ELL Paraprofessional. This full-time position is designed for someone who is passionate about supporting English Language Learners (ELL) in their academic journey. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers to implement instructional strategies, provide individualized support, and foster a positive learning environment for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in delivering effective instruction to ELL students, including the preparation of instructional materials and resources. Provide one-on-one and small group support to ELL students to enhance their understanding of the curriculum and improve language skills. Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed. Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for ELL students. Facilitate communication between ELL students, teachers, and parents, ensuring that language barriers are minimized. Support the integration of ELL students into the classroom environment by promoting cultural awareness and understanding. Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to ELL education. Assist with administrative tasks, such as record-keeping and data entry, related to ELL programs and student progress. Contribute to a positive school culture by participating in school events and activities. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education or a related field is preferred. Prior experience working with ELL students or in an educational setting is highly desirable. Strong understanding of second language acquisition and effective instructional strategies for ELL students. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff. Proficiency in a second language is a plus, particularly languages commonly spoken by ELL students. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and build positive relationships with students and staff. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
