Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated Waddler Teacher Assistant to support early childhood education in a nurturing classroom environment! This role involves working closely with lead teachers to foster a positive learning atmosphere for some of our youngest learners. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development, experience working with children with diverse needs, and a strong understanding of classroom management and curriculum implementation. Prior experience in a preschool setting is important. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of young learners while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education! Duties Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development tailored to early childhood stages. Support classroom activities that promote social, emotional, and cognitive development Engage children in age-appropriate activities that foster curiosity and learning Help manage classroom behavior through positive behavior management techniques Support children with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring an inclusive learning environment Aid in daily routines such as diapering, feeding, and nap times for toddlers and preschoolers Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support ongoing developmental progress Assist with documentation of student progress and participate in team meetings for curriculum planning and development Manage meal times and the diaper change schedule. Must be able to pass an enhanced background check through the state of Idaho. Must be CPR/first-aid cerified or able to obtain this. Skills Experience with early childhood education is desired. Strong understanding of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families Experience working with diverse populations in daycare or private school environments is preferred Compassionate attitude towards children with different needs; patience and adaptability are essential Ability to work well within a team while maintaining a nurturing environment for young learners
