56 per hour South Hills Middle School Posted 9/16/2026 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support the educational development of students with special needs at South Hills Middle School. The SPED Paraprofessional will work closely with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters the academic, social, and emotional growth of students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position requires a commitment to enhancing the educational experience of all students while providing individualized support. Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during classroom activities, ensuring they understand and engage with the curriculum.
• Monitor and document students' progress, behaviors, and needs, providing feedback to teachers and other staff members.
• Support students with daily living skills and personal care as needed, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
• Collaborate with special education staff and general education teachers to adapt instructional materials and strategies for diverse learners.
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and parents to ensure a cohesive support system.
• Assist in the implementation of behavioral intervention plans and strategies to promote positive behavior and social skills.
• Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge related to special education.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher or school administration. Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; requires an AA degree or successfully completed the Idaho Paraprofessional Exam.
• Experience working with children, particularly those with special needs, in an educational setting is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of special education practices, IEPs, and behavioral management strategies.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, teachers, and parents.
• Ability to work patiently and empathetically with students who may exhibit challenging behaviors.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology.
• Ability to lift and assist students as needed and adapt to various physical demands of the job.
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Background check and clearances required prior to employment.
