August 17, 2026 Addison Trail High School is seeking a dedicated Family and Consumer Sciences Teacher Aide to support hands-on, career-focused learning in our classrooms and labs. This role assists teachers in preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and providing individualized support to students during instructional activities. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-minded, and enthusiastic about helping students explore technology, engineering, and skilled trades pathways. Join our team in creating an engaging and supportive environment that prepares students for college and career success. Other Functions Attends meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions. Monitors individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings (e.g. hallways, field trips, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities SKILLS are required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: adhering to safety practiced with wood and machine shop tools and equipment, automotive lab, screen printing, photography, pre-school and culinary classes; operating standard office equipment including computers and pertinent software applications - Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoDesk Suite; Microsoft Office Suite; preparing and maintaining accurate records; shopping for culinary/foods/supplies; inventory, costing, verification of record keeping.

KNOWLEDGE

ABILITY is required to schedule activities; gather and/or collate data; and use basic, job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with others. Working Environment The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 34% sitting, 33% walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under minimal temperature variations and in a clean atmosphere.
