EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS

If so, Milestones in the place for you! We offer a fun, relaxed, home like environment for our staff and families. We are currently only hiring for full time teachers. Our hours of operation are 7:00AM to 5:00PM. Required Qualifications Teachers must have and Associate's or higher in Early Childhood Education or related degree preferred. Minimum of a CDA or 6 semester hours in Early Childhood or Child Development with 60 total hours college credits required. Experience working with children in a child care setting preferred Position Requirements Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner. Must be sensitive to individual children's differences and needs, and be willing to adjust the program & curriculum to meet those individual needs. Must be committed to the field of Early Childhood Education, be motivated to learn and grow in an educational environment and be willing to continually increase knowledge of the field of ECE. Must be able to relate with and speak to parents in a respectful and courteous manner. Must be willing to work cooperatively in a team environment, be helpful, be willing to share ideas & be open-minded to other's ideas as well as be flexible & willing to compromise. Must have a nurturing character that enables the building of a respectful, trusting and loving relationship with children and their families. Must possess the qualities of dependability, patience, sensitivity and honesty. Must have a positive attitude towards work. Be respectful of diversity. Be a motivator and a good listener. CPR/1st Aid Certified or willing to be certified. Must have a clean background and meet all DCFS Requirements. Neat appearance and good hygiene. Physical Requirement Ability to lift up to 45 lbs Have the mobility required to participate in activities with the children and ensure their safety. This includes bending, stretching, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling, standing, and walking. Ability to climb up and down stairs. Work with the children on the floor. Work outside in a variety of weather conditions. Perform light cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, wiping down surfaces). Be able to work in conditions where the noise level can be moderate to loud. Light typing and word processing.
