We're seeking skilled paraprofessionals to fill two immediate backfill openings in a self-contained classroom setting. This opportunity is perfect for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are experienced with students requiring specialized support, including those with Autism, complex medical needs, behavioral differences, and toileting assistance.
Position Details:
Contract assignment for the 2026/2027 school year (August 24 - June 3) 7.25-hour workday with a 30-minute unpaid lunch Environment tailored to students with higher support needs Immediate interviews and swift placement process
Desired Experience & Qualifications:
Experience as a school paraprofessional, preferably in self-contained or special education settings Comfort and skill in assisting students with Autism Spectrum Disorders and complex medical or behavioral cases Patience and ability to manage challenging behaviors with empathy and appropriate de-escalation techniques Willingness and ability to assist with toileting and personal care needs as required Flexibility, teamwork, and strong communication skills High school diploma or equivalent (typically required); paraprofessional certification or relevant training preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to students in academic, social, and self-care activities Work collaboratively with teachers and related service staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Support a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment Assist with data collection and communication between school staff and families Help organize classroom materials and activities, fostering student participation and independence This is your chance to make a tangible difference each day, using your skills to help students thrive in a supportive school environment.
