Description
The Department of Biology at Georgetown University invites applications for a non-tenure-line position to begin in August 2026. We seek a science educator to actively collaborate with current faculty in the delivery and administration of our undergraduate curriculum. The initial appointment is for one year with the possibility of renewal. Non-tenure-line teaching positions are nine-month appointments in which effort is devoted primarily to instruction, but departmental service and professional development are also expected.
The teaching load is 2:2 or 2 courses per semester, with teaching responsibilities primarily at the undergraduate level.
We are looking for candidates who have expertise in the following areas: genetics, molecular and cellular biology, developmental biology, biochemistry. Teaching faculty in Biology are expected to teach in our larger introductory courses, to include our year-long introductory biology sequence, as well as courses for majors or non-majors in such areas as genetics, molecular biology, cellular biology, development, and/or biochemistry.

A Ph.D. in Biology is required prior to the appointment start date. Candidates must show strong promise of excellence in teaching.

The projected base salary range is $68,183.08-$75,981.20. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
