Job Description

Job Overview Join our vibrant community : St. Mary of Providence as a Community Day Program Teacher Aide, where your enthusiasm and dedication will make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. In this rewarding role, you will support participants in engaging activities in the classroom setting. Your positive energy and compassionate approach will help empower individuals to reach their full potential while promoting independence and social connection. Duties Assist participants with activities designed to enhance social skills, communication, and daily living tasks ( toileting) Support individuals with autism and other disabilities through personalized care and behavioral health strategies Help facilitate group activities in the classroom setting and possible outings, and community engagement opportunities Provide support with activities of daily living (ADLs) Use effective behavior management techniques to promote positive behavior and emotional well-being Communicate effectively using verbal skills Requirements Must have a High school Diploma or GED Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is highly preferred Able to communicate effectively in English Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health practices (desired) Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment Experience in caregiving, assisting with ADLs Valid driver's license and ability to drive safely for community outings (desired) Ability to handle sensitive situations with patience, compassion, and professionalism Embark on a fulfilling career where your support fosters growth, independence, and joy in the lives of those you serve. Pay:
$16.60 per hour
