Essential Job Functions:

Support the Teacher in providing developmentally appropriate education experiences across various subjects, including religion, art, music, literacy, science, and mathematics. Assist in supervising activities that promote the health, emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of each child, aligning with Diocesan goals and objectives. Maintain a neat, safe, and organized classroom environment and assist in the upkeep of all educational equipment and materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Practicing Catholic preferred with knowledge of Catholic prayers, holidays, and teachings. Ability to organize and coordinate work effectively with the teacher. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with students and staff. Commitment to self-evaluation and professional growth. Professionalism in attire, communication, and demeanor.

Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit for extended periods of time. Requires the ability to lift to 25 lbs. Requires outdoor supervision in various weather conditions. Works well in a team setting with one more teacher

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; associate's degree or experience in childcare/education preferred. Prior experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting. Demonstrated patience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skills. Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with school staff. Must pass a background check and meet all state and diocesan requirements for working with children.
