About Us Metro Kids Club (MKC) provides safe, structured, high‑quality school‑age programming for children ages 5-12. We are a veteran‑founded organization committed to supporting working families, strengthening communities, and delivering dependable care that meets Illinois DCFS licensing standards. We are looking for reliable, positive, team‑oriented Program Aides who enjoy working with children and want to make a meaningful impact every day. Position Summary The Program Aide supports the daily operations of the program by assisting Group Leaders and site leadership with supervision, activities, cleaning, and organization. This role helps maintain a safe, fun, and welcoming environment while ensuring adherence to MKC policies, DCFS licensing standards, and safety expectations. Responsibilities Program Support & Supervision Assist with supervising children during activities, transitions, and free play Help lead small group activities, games, crafts, and enrichment Maintain active supervision and support appropriate staff‑to‑child ratios Model positive behavior and reinforce MKC expectations Compliance & Documentation Follow DCFS licensing rules, MKC policies, and CACFP guidelines Assist with attendance tracking, snack distribution, and basic documentation Maintain confidentiality and uphold child protection standards Team Collaboration Work closely with Group Leaders and site leadership Communicate child needs or concerns promptly Participate in required trainings and staff meetings Transportation (If Eligible) Maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record Participate in transportation safety training Assist with child transportation as assigned Must be 21+ to be eligible to drive the program vehicle (DCFS + insurance requirement) Cleaning & Safety Help maintain a clean, organized, safe environment Assist with daily cleaning routines and activity setup/breakdown Report safety or maintenance concerns immediately Qualifications Must meet Illinois DCFS requirements for School‑Age Assistant Experience working with children preferred (childcare, camps, recreation, education, youth programs) Strong teamwork, communication, and customer‑service skills Ability to follow directions and maintain a positive environment Willingness to obtain food safety training Must pass all DCFS background checks and health/safety requirements Must be 21+ to drive the program vehicle (not required for non‑driving roles)
Pay:
$16.00 - $17.00 per hour
