Five Star Learning Center is seeking a dependable, caring, and flexible Child Care Floater / Assistant Teacher to join our team. This position will assist in different classrooms throughout the center based on staffing needs, breaks, and classroom ratios. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working with children of different ages and able to adjust easily throughout the day.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday, 9:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m.

Pay:

$16.00-$17.25 per hour

Responsibilities:

Assist in multiple classrooms throughout the center as needed. Help maintain required staff-to-child ratios at all times. Provide safe, attentive, and nurturing supervision of children. Assist lead teachers with classroom routines, activities, and daily schedules. Interact with children through play, exploration, reading, music, and age-appropriate activities. Support children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care needs. Help maintain clean, safe, and organized classroom environments. Clean and sanitize toys, tables, equipment, and classroom areas as needed. Follow classroom schedules and center policies when moving between rooms. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, coworkers, and administration. Observe children and communicate any concerns to the classroom teacher or administration. Assist with rest time, transitions, outdoor play, and other daily activities. Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health procedures, and safety guidelines. Participate in staff meetings, required training, and professional development. Work cooperatively with teachers and staff to maintain a positive work environment. Be flexible and willing to assist wherever needed throughout the center.

Skills & Qualifications:

Must be at least 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be able to pass required background checks. Previous childcare or early childhood experience is preferred. Ability to work with children of different ages. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Must be dependable, punctual, patient, and flexible. Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom routines. Ability to safely lift, carry, and assist children as needed. Must be comfortable assisting with diapering, toileting, feeding, cleaning, and other routine childcare responsibilities.
