This role is vital in fostering a positive learning environment for students with diverse needs, including those with disabilities, autism, or special education requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childhood development, classroom management, and experience working with children across various age groups, including preschool and early childhood education. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with licensed teachers and contribute to curriculum implementation, lesson planning, and behavioral support strategies. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy education, math, and curriculum development. Support students with special needs, including those with disabilities or autism, by providing individualized assistance and behavior management. Facilitate classroom activities that promote social-emotional growth and academic achievement for children of different ages, including toddlers and preschoolers. Help maintain a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment through classroom management techniques. Support early childhood education initiatives such as Montessori or daycare programs by assisting with daily routines and activities. Collaborate with teachers on lesson planning and adapt instructional materials to meet diverse student needs. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to promote positive educational experiences. Assist in documenting student progress and behavior for ongoing assessment and curriculum adjustments. Provide childcare support during classroom activities or school events as needed. Qualifications Experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Familiarity with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with students with disabilities or autism. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management preferred. Prior experience in preschool, daycare, private school settings, or Montessori programs is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and support staff. Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and growth. This position is designed for individuals committed to fostering an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic and social-emotional development of all students. Successful completion of the paraprofessional exam within 60 days of accepting the position.
