06/03/2026 Lake Forest School District 67 is seeking a full-time K-4 Teaching Assistant at Everett Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year.
Description:
The teacher assistant will assist the teachers and school with various assigned duties including classroom work, supervision of student(s) (e.g. bus, lunch, playground, assemblies, etc.) and other duties assigned by the building administrator.
Salary:
$21.00/

IMRF Tuition Reimbursement Qualifications:
Education, Experience, and Licensure (required and preferred) High School Diploma or equivalent Illinois Professional Educator License, Paraprofessional License, or Substitute License Nonviolent Crisis Prevention Intervention Certificate- preferred Experience working with children and/or adolescents with disabilities
- preferred Experience with office and school-based management systems
- preferred Competencies (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) Maintains a high level of ethical behavior, confidentiality, and professionalism as is expected of certified staff members.
Possesses the proven ability to work harmoniously and effectively with teachers, students, parents, and district administrators in accomplishing the purposes of the position.
Essential Functions:
Works with individual student(s), small groups of students, or the whole class to provide instruction and support the lessons taught by the teacher Works collaboratively with teachers to implement supports and best practices for students Implements, adapts, and modifies instruction using the regular education curriculum and/or implements instruction using the modified curriculum when appropriate under the direction of the teacher Assists with other academic supports and interventions (Team Read, etc.) Assists student(s) with independent assignments/activities, enrichment work, and/or as assigned by the teacher Assists assigned student(s) in any/all classes Collects data as directed Supports students' behavior plans as directed by the teacher Employs positive behavioral strategies when dealing with student behavior Observes student(s) behavior and performance, and informs teachers of any information deemed important Assists the substitute in the absence of the regular teacher Eligible to substitute for teachers if necessary credentials are held. Serves as substitute teacher for other teachers per need, eligibility, and availability Assists student(s) in any/all classes away from the child's homeroom class when appropriate Assists the teacher in developing instructional strategies and materials for student use At the discretion of the building administrator, can attend workshops and conferences Operates and cares for equipment used in the school Supervises student(s) at lunch, recess, before and after school for bus arrival and departure, during assemblies, and at other times as assigned by the building administrator Performs any other duties assigned by the building administrator Plans for their own absences and communicates to relevant staff Assist with feeding and daily life skills as assigned Perform toileting duties as assigned (stipend available) The length of the work days is 8 hours to equal 7.5 hours of work and a 30 minute duty free unpaid lunch Physical Demands & Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to be mobile and transport instructional materials from one setting to another within the building. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. The physical demands and work environment described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
