We are seeking a paraprofessional with experience and expertise in autism to join our team. This role involves supporting students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) and behavioral challenges, facilitating their inclusion in the classroom, and helping them achieve their educational goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of behavior management strategies, individualized education plans (IEPs), and autism-specific interventions.
Benefits include:
2 Personal and 12 Sick days; Life, Medical and Dental Insurance; and an annual $550 457 Contribution. The pay rate is $20.72 per hour (ELS PARA or SUB) or $21.84 per hour with a PEL.
Qualifications:
Appropriate State of Illinois Paraeducator Approval Associate Degree required, with a TEACCH certification preferred At least 1-3 years of experience working with students with autism and/or behavioral challenges, preferably in an educational setting. Familiarity with autism-specific interventions, behavior management techniques, and individualized education plans. Familiar with Star and PCI curriculum
