SUMMARY STATEMENT

Our Savior's Lutheran Church is a wonderful faith community with generous members and a rich history of making a big impact on the larger community. Playtown Preschool Center is a ministry of Our Savior's Lutheran Church. It is a vibrant and intimate 1 room preschool with up to 20 students that are 3-5 years old. We are looking for a Teacher Qualified Candidate as Assistant Teacher. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1.

Work under the direct supervision of the Director/Teacher in teaching, supervising, evaluating, and disciplining students in their care. 2. Maintain good physical order in the classroom. 3. Participate in continuing education activities and classes. 4. Interact with parents/guardians of enrolled students as needed in the operation of the preschool. 5. Implement the daily activities with the Director/Teacher. 6. Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS 1.

Teacher Qualified, Associates Degree with 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Development. 2. Assistants shall meet the requirements of section 407.10 of IL Reg. 8713, with the exception of subsection (b). 3.

Certificate in:

SIDS, Shaken Baby, Food Handler, Welcome Each and Every Child, Mandated Reporter, CPR and 1st Aid. 4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 5. Must be dependable. 6. Able to maintain confidentially of all church-related business both on and off the job. 7. Show the spirit of Jesus Christ through an energetic, caring and positive manner

HOURS, SALARY AND BENEFITS

This is a Part-Time, Non-Exempt position.

The hours are:

7:45 am - 12:15 pm during the school year, primarily following the RPS #205 Academic Calendar, with some additional hours for occasional special events. There are an additional 3 weeks of summer school with dates agreed upon and planned by the Director and Assistant Teacher. Hourly rate is $17/hour. Paid bi-weekly.
