Description:
Schaumburg Christian Day Camp (SCDC) is seeking dependable and caring Assistant Teachers to support Summer 2026 programming. Assistant Teachers work alongside Lead Teachers to help create a safe, structured, engaging, and Christ-centered environment for students throughout the summer. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, thrive in a team environment, and desire a meaningful summer role supporting elementary and preschool-aged students.

Program Dates:
Early June through early August (exact dates provided upon hire) Position Requirements Must be at least 18 years old Ability to work cooperatively with camp staff and leadership Strong communication and supervision skills Positive attitude and willingness to engage with students throughout the day Primary Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in supervising and engaging students within an assigned age group (between K3-5th grade) Assist with implementing the established SCDC daily and weekly schedules Help maintain a structured, safe, and positive classroom environment Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, outdoor play, and off-campus programming Participate in Bible activities, reading time, games, crafts, and enrichment activities Assist with classroom setup, organization, and daily cleanup responsibilities Encourage positive student behavior and model Christ-centered attitudes and interactions Communicate professionally with camp leadership and staff Uphold all SCS and SCDC policies related to supervision, safety, and student conduct Program Structure Dedicated classrooms and consistent age-group assignments Clearly defined daily routines and expectations Structured mornings (Bible, reading, enrichment) Intentional afternoon programming (parks, pool days, library visits, field trips) Strong administrative oversight and leadership support
